In Other News…

Not much to report this week. Life goes on. There was Walmart pizza, which is surprisingly good. I have plans to make some kind of French toast bake soon. Oh, and I revamped the blog, as you can see. Let me know what you think.

This week in books was kind of slow. I had paid stuff to read, which took up a lot of my reading time in a good way. There is literally nothing better than getting paid to read stuff I enjoy.

I finished Supernova. I want to say I loved it all the way to the end, but I honestly got a bit lost in the details around the two-thirds mark. Things started hitting fast, a bit too fast. The final battle felt jumbled, and the character motivations got a bit lost in the shuffle for me. The epilogue was fantastic, though, and if the questions it leaves means more of this world later, I’m all in. I still really enjoyed this, despite feeling lost.
I started Angels on Overtime (link above, review coming this week). It’s described as a “divine romantic comedy,” and that feels about right. There are great messages about self-worth in here, and the concept is really neat. Looking forward to seeing how it ends.

Not much new in movies/TV. We’re still working through Just Add Magic. After reading the book, I actually like the TV series better. We usually get in 2-3 episodes a night. Then, we decide we’ll probably fall asleep and switch to Monk or Third Rock from the Sun, both of which are fun.

  1. The Walmart pizza was good? I'll have to keep that in mind. Glad to hear you mostly enjoyed Supernova. I watched 3rd Rock so many years ago. Classic good fun! :)

    1. I was skeptical about Walmart pizza at first, but we've been getting it for years, and it really isn't bad. We also doctor it up with extra spices and toppings, but the base pizza is good enough that we buy it frequently.
