CONSEQUENCE
by: C.R. Langille

What started as a hunting trip for Tobias Evard Warner II and his friends turns into a fight for survival during a supernatural storm which kicks off the apocalypse. The storm awakens and frees seven powerful creatures who were locked away at the beginning of the world’s creation. The Seven turn nightmares into reality and leave nothing but chaos and death in their wake.

Tobias fights his way through a nightmare infested wilderness to get back home to his family. With the unleashed terrors come newfound magical powers for Tobias, but at a cost. Will he sacrifice everything to ensure his family’s safety, even if it means his own soul?

Angels, demons, ancient cosmic beings, and even a dimensional-traveler clad in a trench coat made of duct tape come together in this fast-paced novel of magic, darkness, and consequences.

AN INTERVIEW WITH C. R.
-What inspired you to become a writer?

When I was in the 6th Grade I picked up a copy of The Crystal Shard by R.A. Salvatore. The book blew me away and hooked me from the get-go. After that, I devoured all the fantasy books I could and decided that being a writer was what I wanted to do.

-What draws you to your genre of choice?

My preferred genre these days is horror. I’ve always enjoyed watching scary movies and reading scary books. I think horror has the ability to really sink deep and hit you where it hurts. Good horror requires time to build up momentum, but once it’s at full speed, you can’t stop it. Good horror will stick with you for days and weeks after you’ve finished ingesting it.

-Give us a fun or interesting fact you learned researching this book.

This book was my thesis project at Seton Hill University for their MFA: Writing Popular Fiction. So my fun fact isn’t that fun, it’s more educational. Watch out for favorite words. Mine are, just, had, and that. I’ve had this manuscript come back to me bleeding with edits and comments based upon those three words alone.

-Which of your characters would you go out for drinks and pizza with?

I could totally hang out with my protagonist, I think I poured a little of my own personality into him. Otherwise, I’d pick Special Agent Doyle. He’s crazy and I think he’d be a non-stop riot to hang out with.

-For aspiring writers, any tips?

Look forward to revisions and editing. That’s really when you can fine-tune the machine you’ve built. The rough draft is there to lay out the foundation and give you a roadmap. After that, it’s up to you to revise it and make that machine purr.

-Is there a genre you could never write? Which and why?

I don’t think I could write mystery. I just don’t think I have the intellectual chops to write something that would stump readers and keep them hooked without making it too obvious. My hat is off to those mystery writers out there, you folks are doing a fine job.
